Note: This is a DIY Project Kit, client pls make sure that you can handle this project alone, besides this kit, you need 1）ZVS driver board, 2）high voltage transformer, 3）battery etc power source to realize the arc generator.

The Marx generator, used in scientific research as a high-voltage pulse power source for experiments, can also be used for electromagnetic teaching. Use 10-20KV high voltage DC power supply, output more than ten million volts.

The base is 5mm acrylic board, the resistance is a specially-made high-voltage glass glaze resistor, and the capacitor is a high-voltage capacitor of 30KV2000pF or more. Because the capacitor has high voltage resistance and large capacity, it is not easy to breakdown, and the arc generated is also very thick, and it is not an ordinary small capacitor. Comparable. Level 6 arc 8-10 cm, level 10 15-18 cm, up to 20 cm, 20 arcs over 30 cm. (default level 6, other specifications required, please contact in advance.)

Discharge of the Marx generator will produce relatively large electromagnetic interference, if the power supply with switching power supply is more easily damaged by interference, so use lithium battery packs, batteries, transformers, etc. are not afraid of electromagnetic interference power supply to zvs high voltage power supply. The equipment should be as far away as possible from other household appliances, and keep a distance of at least 2-3 meters to avoid electromagnetic interference from the arc.

Lithium battery is recommended for 6S, 22.2V. The transformer power supply scheme is shown below. 15-24V transformer can be used, it is recommended to use about 18V50W. Rectifier bridge can easily use a current of more than 6A, as shown in the flat bridge, but also a square, you can also use their own diodes to take one. Filter capacitor voltage above 35V, capacity 2200uF or more, capacity is not enough can use multiple parallel.

【Note】 It is forbidden to touch the Marx generator and high voltage power supply under power-on condition!

After each test, use a screwdriver or other metal with insulated handles to simultaneously touch the two copper posts at the input of the 20KV power supply and let go of the residual charge in the capacitors before touching the Marx generator.

ZVS Flyback Driver Board + ignition coil

1. 12-36VDC input (recommend 24V), output high voltage direct current, voltage of the input voltage of about 1000 times. The 12V input can reach 50-100W power, 24 V input max can reach more than 200W, so request power supply current best in more than 10A.

2. A flyback drive circuit, which is used to drive the ignition coil, as did the Zero Voltage Switching, masses of fans called them "ZVS circuit". Because of its big power, low heat, simple and reliable by fans are widely used in the drive spark gap tesla coil (SGTC) and Jacob, ladders, Marx generator, etc.

Common debugger questions:

1. Driver board does not work

Please check if power supply voltage/current is sufficient. Normally recommend use 12V+, 5A+ power supply.

2. Excessive heat generated at magnetic coil

When using transformer as power supply, filter capacitor should have sufficient capacity, otherwise voltage will not be stable, then coil inductor will shoulder great voltage fluctuation and gives out excessive heat. Recommend to use 10000uf+ filter capacitor.
