The CH552 chip is an enhanced E8051 core microcontroller compatible with the MCS51 instruction set. 79% of its instructions are single-byte, single-cycle instructions, with an average instruction speed 8-15 times faster than the standard MCS51.

The CH552 supports a maximum system frequency of 24MHz and includes 16KB of program memory (ROM), 256 bytes of internal RAM, and 1KB of on-chip XRAM. The XRAM supports DMA (Direct Memory Access).

The CH552 includes built-in functional modules such as ADC analog-to-digital conversion, touch button capacitance detection, three timers with signal capture and PWM, dual asynchronous serial port (SPI), USB device controller, and full-speed transceiver. The CH551 is a simplified version of the CH552. It has 10KB of ROM, 512 bytes of on-chip xRAM, a single UART asynchronous serial port, and a SOP16 package. It also has only four touch buttons and omits the ADC and USB Type-C modules. Otherwise, it’s identical to the CH552.
